Sony Europe Confirms Premium PlayStation Network
by Brian Leahy, May 26, 2010 1:40pm PDTSony Computer Entertainment Europe president Andrew House confirmed (via G4TV) the often rumored premium PlayStation Network, which is rumored to be revealed at E3 2010, to a fan in a question & answer post.
To the question, "will PlayStation Network become a paying service?" House responded:
I can assure you that the current PSN as you know it will remain a free service. It is something that our competitors don't offer and something that shows our loyalty to the PlayStation Community. However, Kaz Hirai stated a few months ago that we were looking at a premium service to sit alongside the current free service and that objective has not changed. You'll learn more about it very soon.
Expect that this will be announced at E3. House also mentioned that the long-awaited Gran Turismo 5 will be "out soon". Could we be getting a true release date at E3, as well?
