[Update 4:47 PM - BL] Valve has confirmed to Shacknews that this release includes Half-Life 2, Half-Life 2: Episode 1 and Half-Life 2: Episode 2.

[Original Story] Gordon Freeman's epic adventure through City 17 will hit the Mac version of Steam sometime tomorrow. To tease this, Valve has released an homage trailer to the landmark 1984 Apple Macintosh commercial.

I've reached out to Valve to find out if this is just the original release of Half-Life 2 or if it will include Episodes 1 and 2.

I hope it has Steam Achievements, and then those are simultaneously released on PC. :p

It would be even better if the HDR lighting enhancements they made for the console versions of The Orange Box were released on both platforms tomorrow.

It would be even better if Valve ported all games since HL2 to the latest engine version, with multi-core support and all that... :)

I think it was before the Orange box, when Valve first announced HL2 and Ep1 would use the OB engine on the consoles that they said they'd do it on PC. That was in 2007. So...

Yeah, and Game did say that it would "eventually" come to PC.

"Perhaps it will be one of the bonuses for preordering Episode 3 (since Episode 2 doesn't need any more incentive)"

Even back then you were talking about EP3... It's mid-2010 and we have zero news about it. =/

There were murmurings on the Steam forums around Ep2 release that they removed a preview trailer because Valve feared it would be too different from the finished product.

Just murmurings, mind. You don't know who has had a genuine Valve response.

It was when they released Half-Life 2 : Lost Coast, it was a technical demo for HDR lighting.

Hot piss, my hopes were right! I think it has the OB engine too!
