A new trailer for Ruffian Games' upcoming sequel, Crackdown 2, shows a host of new weapons and gadgetry awaiting players when the game comes out this July. Apparently, helping The Agency restore order to Pacific City involves causing a lot of crazy mayhem, best done by blowing stuff up.

One of the coolest new tools is a sort of magnetic grapple device that you can use to tether multiple objects together, clearly designed with some insane multiplayer applications in mind.

Crackdown 2 comes out exclusively for the Xbox 360 on July 6.

Did you play Crackdown? Cuz it sounds like no. Someday you might learn that there is more to gaming then Graphics, or not. Oh this is x360 exclusive, so you should be saying something derogatory about that too.

Yes, I completed Crackdown. What's wrong with commenting on that the graphics look poor? There is more to gaming than visuals, but not to agreeing tot that they are an integral part of immersion and coolness factor is just plain stupid in my book. I would not enjoy RDR half as much without the at times nearly photo realistic scenery and FX.

Rockstar had to spoil you with something in GTA4 because it definitely wasn't spoiling you in gameplay.

Wait, since when is the GTA4 "engine" good? It's probably the worst I've ever seen. The xbox can't run it, xbox players also think 10fps is fantastic. PC's can't run it because it's very poorly coded, they said it was created for future computers but that's just an excuse for terrible coding.

I admit it doesn't look stellar in the graphics department... but it does look like a hell of a lot of fun.

I loved the 1st Crackdown, but this looks less appealing visually than the original. The lighting looks totally flat. Given that its been a number of years, I would have thought some enhancements were in order. Is it possible a game can be too over the top? Few if any of these preview videos make me want to buy this one.

Let's not forget that the game is still not finished. Crackdown wasn't going to win any graphical achievement awards but it looked good enough. This game will have to look at LEAST as good as that. The one thing I did like about the Crackdown engine was the draw distance. You could see the whole city sprawling off into the distance and it really didn't seem to slow the engine down at all.
