Report: Naughty Dog Assisting with Killzone 3 Development

3
CVG is reporting that Uncharted 2: Among Thieves and Jak developer Naughty Dog is assisting Guerrilla Games with the recently confirmed PS3 first-person shooter Killzone 3.

According to the report, Naughty Dog "co-created" the Killzone 3 engine with Guerrilla Games, though I cannot imagine the engine was started from scratch. Released screenshots for Killzone 3 show snow environments, which were particularly well done in Naughty Dog's Uncharted 2.

Still, this would help get the game to market in the short time following Killzone 2 if the rumored holiday release date is true. The game will definitely support 3D gameplay and PlayStation Move support is rumored, though not confirmed. Expect more details at E3 2010.

Yeah. Naughty Dog and Insomniac shared a lot of technology, but they weren't really the developers of the R&C games.

Don't forget they were the original developers of Crash Bandicoot as well, back when it was awesome.

It's entirely too easy to mix these two up. I was talking to a former coworker out at Naughty Dog once and was like "Oh, yeah, I need to start playing Resistance" then immediately followed that up with "AW FUCK I KNOW BETTER THAN THAT I SWEAR"
