This is one of the first videos I've watched of this game.
After playing Split Second, Blur looks very underwhelming.

Weird, I found it to be the opposite. The Split Second demo struck me as very limited and ironically not nearly as dynamic a game as Blur. Sure there's the course changers and the traps, but that was it. Blur has the assortment of power-ups that can at least be used offensively and defensively.

That and Split Second seemed to have frame rate issues

Of course the demo is limited, that's why it's called a demo-short for demonstration.
I have played Split Second for several hours and the course changers and traps are much cooler than blasting cheesy Mario Kart-style powerups at opponents. It would be much better if Blur had things like rockets, missiles and oil slicks.
The physics in Split Second are really sick! There's always debris littered about the road from previous crashes/traps/course changers that goes flying when you plow through it. I haven't played Blur, but from the videos it doesn't look nearly as exciting as Split Second. That's not to say it doesn't offer some cool abilities...
I have had no frame rate issues whatsoever on the Xbox 360 version.

The videos of Split Second seem to have frame rate issues yep.
I found it to be much smoother though when playing the actual demo. Sure it is not running at 60 FPS, but I had no problems with it anyway.
Also, I enjoyed both the Blur 'beta' and the Split Second demo - so will probably end up getting both.
