Scribblenauts Sequel Dubbed 'Super Scribblenauts'

Following through on its announcement of a follow-up to 5TH Cell's quirky Nintendo DS puzzler Scribblenauts, publisher Warner Bros. today confirmed the sequel's name--Super Scribblenauts--and issued screenshots.

Helmed by creator 5TH Cell, Super Scribblenauts expands the object-summoning wordplay of the original to include adjectives in addition to nouns so that players can, for example, bring forth "flaming, flying zombies and purple, obese, winged elephants."

Due out on Nintendo DS in the fall, the sequel will also pack upgraded controls--the original's touch-screen controls were a frequent criticism--and, of course, more puzzles.

Scribblenauts was a game with a really fantastic and unique idea that suffered from some minor flaws that turned out to be bloody annoying and preventing me from really giving the game a good go. I think with a sequel they can iron out those flaws and turn out something great.

Agreed, it got really frustrating sometimes trying to figure out what the hell the win conditions even were...and far too many of the puzzles were solved by just flying over, picking things up and then dragging them to the finish.
