EVE Online 'Tyrannis' Update Delayed Until Next Week

The launch of EVE Online's next update, titled Tyrannis, and the accompanying "web-based collaboration and networking portal" EVE Gate has been delayed by one week until May 26, developer CCP has announced, to allow more time for polish.

"This will allow the development team to finalize polish on the features and players to have a period of time to study the new gameplay, scan planets for resources, train skills needed for structures and make plans for which planets they want to," CCP states.

A post on the spacefaring MMO's dev blog by senior producer Torfi Frans Olafsson goes into further detail, explaining that CCP discovered "scalability issues" with the planetary interaction and needed extra time to ensure it didn't disrupt the game.

The planet-side features of Tyrannis will eventually connect with CCP's tie-in console MMO-FPS DUST 514, as the two are set in the same universe.
