With Alpha Protocol's release fast approaching, a new trailer has arrived to explain the political landscape in Obsidian's espionage RPG and detail just how sticky a situation poor Agent Thorton will have to navigate with tact, intelligence or plain old violence.

Alpha Protocol will be released for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on June 1 in North America, after hitting Europe on May 28. The PC edition employs relatively lenient DRM, which publisher Sega says will be removed "around 18-24 months after release."

What don't you like about it? I thought it was one of their better trailers.

The thing this trailer did for me was made me start to realize the size and complexity of this game. It looks like there's a lot going on here with all the factions and characters. My first impressions of the game were that it looked a bit like Mass Effect with spies... but the trailers I saw made the game look a bit bland (graphically and in terms of detail etc). However, if the game has the kind of depth and breath this trailer suggests... it might explain some of that 'blandness' away. So if ME was impressive with it's very detailed characters, conversations and set pieces... this game might be a bit less so in those areas.. but make up for it with the number of characters, places, factions (and possibly game length). This is all speculation I guess... just going on simple impressions here.

I thought it was pretty good. It didn't do much to change my impression from other trailers that the game will have so-so action and animations, but it did give me a sense that the scope of the game might be larger and more complex than I had previously thought.
