RollerCoaster Tycoon: The Movie Planned

As Atari continues to capitalize upon the motion-picture rights of its various video game franchises--a movie based upon Asteroids was announced later year--the company has now handed off the rights to a film based upon its "RollerCoaster Tycoon" series.

Sony Pictures Animation picked up the rights, Reuters reports, and is "developing the project as a live-action/CGI hybrid."

Harald Zwart (The Karate Kid [2010]) will serve as executive producer and may direct. RollerCoaster Tycoon 3, the last entry in the theme park strategy game series, was released in 2004. A version of RollerCoaster Tycoon for the original Xbox hit in 2003.

How do you make a RollerCoaster Tycoon movie? I can't think of any way to make a movie out of this besides having someone record them playing the game for an hour and call it a movie. They mine as well go get Uwe Bull to make this movie.

If Sony is looking to throw money away they're more than welcome tossing it my way instead of embarrassing themselves like this. I can think of hundreds of video games that could make a better premise for a movie than RCT.
