Metro 2033 'Ranger Pack' DLC Revealed

Following through on its teases, developer 4A Games and publisher THQ have unveiled the first downloadable add-on for their post-apocalyptic horror shooter Metro 2033.

Dubbed the "Ranger Pack" and revealed via Facebook, the as-yet-unpriced add-on brings "new weapons, new achievements and the deadly 'Ranger Mode' game rules" along with a "Ranger Hardcore" mode that "adds an additional challenge as the HUD is totally removed, creating the most immersive Metro 2033 experience yet."

Both the PC and Xbox 360 versions of Metro 2033 will receive the add-on "in the very near future," say the companies, with "pricing to be confirmed closer to release."

It has its faults but I've really been enjoying this game on the 360. Going through on hardcore difficulty on my first play-through. It's basically how I imagined a very linear Stalker to be. Make no mistake though, Stalker is still the better game.

I don't think it took them a lot of efforts to remove the HUD. Anyway, it sounds good :-)

- You can disable the HUD pretty easily in the Quake engine games, and in Source as well, IIRC. Still, it'... : the archvile
