1up reports that Sony Computer Entertainment Japan has set a release date for White Knight Chronicles 2, a sequel to Level 5's original RPG (pictured left). The PlayStation 3 exclusive game, originally announced at Tokyo Game Show 2009, will be available in Japan on July 8.

The sequel will allow players to import his or her avatar from White Knight Chronicles, provided they have finished the first game's story mode.

Though the first game was released on February 2, 2010 in North America after a lengthy localization process, the original title was available on December 25, 2008 in Japan. Nothing has been announced for North America at this time, but we'll keep you updated.

Loved this game. I didn't experience any of the horrible combat issues that a lot of reviews ragged on this game for. Probably the most underrated RPG of this year IMO.

100% agree I loved it as well, its the only JRPG that actually has armor upgrades that show up on your chars and not just stats, that alone is massive. Plus there is a million spells and so much other good things.

--> "Probably the most underrated RPG of this year IMO." on the consoles that is

      Looking forward to # 2
