Modern Warfare 2 Gets Double XP, Free Weekend on Steam

This weekend, PC gamers will once again be able to play the multiplayer component of Infinity Ward's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 for free via Valve's digital distribution platform Steam . Steam users can pre-load the game now to preapre.

Gamers that already own the game will be treated to double XP over the weekend to crank out a few more levels of prestige.

Modern Warfare 2's "Stimulus Package", the first downloadable add-on pack that includes five maps, was released earlier this week for the PC and PlayStation 3. It was available last month for the Xbox 360. Another map pack is in development and will be similarly released on the Xbox 360 before finally coming to the PC and PlayStation 3.
