It wasn't that bad, it was a light-grade flight-sim (more an action flight-sim). It was similar to what I remember the early "Jet-fighter" games being. Really wasn't a bad thing, just wasn't meant to be taken too seriously.

But the game took ITSELF way to seriously.

Haha, it sure did. However, keep in mind that Tom Clancy's name was included in the game title, so an overly dramatic plot is a given. But personally I really enjoyed the game. I was really happy with the simplified, arcade-style gameplay. I'm looking forward to the sequel, though I would probably wait till it was on sale for cheap, like how the original HAWX was on D2D a couple weeks ago.

Umm, wasnt 'Aces of the Pacific' a combat flight simulator, for its day
H.A.W.X. is not a combat flight sim, it is an action/arcade game with areal combat

If you play the game expecting combat flight sim you will be disappointed
If you play the game expecting to to fly around a blow crap up then it should provide at least some amount of entertainment.

I happen to enjoy both a good combat flight sim and action/arcade flying, H.A.W.X. was exactly what I wanted in the latter, I just wish there was a modern Janes USAF style game... there was LockOn Modern Air Combat, but that didnt grab me the same way Janes USAF did
