Microsoft's Game Room Gets New Titles Wednesday

Microsoft's virtual arcade, Game Room, was scheduled to begin receiving new titles last week, but it was delayed "until further notice." Further notice!

Microsoft's Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb tweeted that the first post-release game pack, which includes Super Breakout and Pitfall! will be released on Wednesday.

The list of games for this pack are Super Breakout,

Pitfall!,

Megamania,

Night Stalker,

Rack 'Em Up,

Realsports Volleyball,

and Basketball.

Each game will cost you 240 Microsoft Points / $3 for use on one platform (either Xbox 360 or PC) or 400 MS Points / $5 for use on both. It is unknown if this will kick off the promised weekly updates, but new content is a good sign.

I love the idea that they're going to have 1000 games for this in a few years. I think it could be redeemed just by having an insane selection of games. That said, I'm kind of underwhelmed by the selection so far. Remind me when they hit a milestone, like 100 or 200, and I'll be sure to give it another shot.

Yea im unimpressed with the game room so far, its a cool concept, the problem is its haphazardly executed like the original xbox live arcade was (for the original xbox with the manadatory installation disc and super expensive games which all i can remember is dig dug for like 10 bucks). The emulation seems spotty, the interface both in game and out of game is clunky, and the games aren't very impressive. That being said Super Breakout is a great game and Pitfall, Night Stalker, were great for their time.
