The PlayStation 3 edition of Toy Story 3: The Video Game will include an exclusive playable character--Emperor Zurg, nemesis of Buzz Lightyear--not found on other platforms, publisher Disney Interactive revealed today.

In addition, owners of the PlayStation 3 version will be able to download new mini-games that make use of the system's upcoming motion-sensitive controller PlayStation Move. The controller is due out this fall, with the downloads due sometime after the game's launch.

Developed by the Hannah Montana: Spotlight World Tour and Disney's Bolt veterans of Disney subsidiary Avalanche Software, Toy Story 3: The Video Game is due out on PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii, Nintendo DS, and PSP come June 15, 2010.

This is a smart move. The audience that would normally buy this game doesn't really know about platform exclusives and what not, so they now give the "hardcore" a reason to buy it.

Platform exclusitivity of any kind always gets the fanboys in the forums talking. Maybe people will buy it just because it is an exclusive of sorts.
