Shack PSA: GTA San Andreas PC Briefly $4.99

Man, flipping through those screenshots brings back fond memories. I couldn't get into GTA3, loved Vice City, but San Andreas almost consumed my life. There was so much to do: make your character fat, jacked, or anything in between; personalize your character with tats, different types of clothing, haircuts, jewelry; participate in turf wars with rival gangs (easiest way to stock up on weapons, and exhilarating, too); rush across the map to your turf when it's under attack; roam the world in dozens of vehicles; float around in a jetpack; play billiards or b-ball; the story was interesting, as were the characters...

San Andreas has spoiled me to other GTA games. I have IV, but I've yet to play it because I don't want to be disappointed by its emphasis on realism. San Andreas had so much content: it's goal was to create a living virtual playground filled with so much equipment that you had trouble deciding what you wanted to play on first.

Aaahh! Now I might go back and play again.

I never finished GTA: SA PC - and I bought it when it first dropped on the PC.

GTA games are just those games that always find a way to frustrate me - w/ lack of autosaves/checkpoint saves within long missions.

This is the one game that I really really wish would work with the 360 controller without installing all sorts of joy 2 key programs, xpadder, etc.

Trying to fly planes in GTA:SA but having do use WASD, arrow keys, and the mouse simultaneously was a huge pain.

So far out of rockstar games I only have GTA4 in my Steam account and have yet to play it. Thinking I should just pick up the whole Rockstar collection. Seems worth it. I remember loving the shit out of Max Payne, don't mind going through it again and maybe actually finishing Max Payne 2 this time....

installing the gtaiv addons now. but all this talk about san andreas being so awesome, i might dl that too and play that one first
