Final Fantasy V and VI DS Remakes Up in the Air
by Brian Leahy, Apr 28, 2010 2:50pm PDTAccording to a Twitter update (translated by Andriasang) Square Enix producer Shinji Hashimoto revealed that there are "technical issues" with DS remakes of Final Fantasy V and VI (Final Fantasy III in the US).
Due to whatever issues Square Enix is experiencing, the fates of both remakes are "undecided".
DS remakes have been released for Final Fantasy III through IV. Final Fantasy V and VI represent the last main-entry Final Fantasy titles before the franchise moved to the PlayStation. Re-releases of FFVII and FFVIII are currently available through PlayStation Network with IX likely to be gearing up for re-release.
Perhaps Square Enix will wait for Nintendo's 3DS, which will be released before March 2011 in Japan.
