Capcom Files 'Mega Man Universe' Trademark, Teases 'Exciting Ideas in the Mega Man Space'

In a double-whammy of news regarding everyone's favorite blue bomber, developer Capcom has begun teasing that the Mega Man series has "some surprises in store" just days after it filed for a trademark on the phrase "Mega Man Universe."

"When I heard about the project, I was like, 'Holy crap. That's rad,'" Capcom's Seth Killian told Destructoid of an unannounced Mega Man effort. "I actually haven't seen anything that's going on with the project right now but the idea was exciting. This is still kicking around as a concept. But there are exciting ideas in the Mega Man space."

The trademark filing, uncovered by Siliconera, offers few details, covering everything from physical and downloadable games to music and ring tones for mobile phones.

Of course, the timing may just be a coincidence. Then again, Capcom has also teased that it's readying a "gamer's game" for the Xbox 360's motion-sensing Project Natal add-on that Mega Man creator Keiji Inafune "is really excited about," so....
