Morning Discussion

What a splendid weekend that was for meetings and reunions. We were all reunited with our favourite zombie apocalypse survivors, I got to play a few games with the First Lady of the Internet again, Ellis met the love of his life, Zoey, and by chance I bumped into a wonderful person I hadn't seen in positively yonks. Jolly good.

This weekend in the Shack community, CrustaR released the latest of his GTA Badassery video series, while caveatemptor points out he's illustrated the comic HydeBound for a competition, which you should vote for if you agree it's swell.

    How was everyone's weekend?

Mine was awesome. Dinner with family, had a triathlon that went well saturday morning, went to a Pickle Festival, Democratic Fundraiser that night, and then to the reopening of the museum of art around here where I took some of the best pictures I've ever taken. Also I played this game last night and had a blast:

Blew glass, drank beer, drastically re-arranged our gaming office ditching a third of the furniture in there. I feel like I live in a real home now.

We got that Minotauros game. Got it together but the kid doesn't want to play it according to the rules. Tommy doesn't play by the rules. He's a renegade.

inorite. It was a pretty awesome idea, but surprisingly devoid of pickle ideas.

No pickle competitions, no pickle specific foods like pickle burgers or pickles on a stick or deep fried pickles or pickle chips or pickle funnel cakes. That part was kind of disappointing. There was however a booth that gave out free pickles, and that just solidified the fact that I hate pickles.

I was at the Calgary comic book convention. Good times were had. Lots of cosplayers this year too.

The hightlight was seeing Brent spiner who was a lot more insightful than I thought he would be.

I was there most of the weekend. Lots of my Edmonton friends came down and were volunteering at the event so I just went around and saw everyone.

My weekend was pretty good, I saw Kick-Ass on friday night, then saturday I had a lazy morning with a huge breakfast, enjoyed the weather and then went to a friend's birthday party in the evening, and sunday I slept in till nearly noon and afterward got some work done around the house and also baked some amazing quinoa cornbread and started marinating some pork belly so that I can confit it later in the week and eventually deep-fry the confited pork belly

I still need to pick up a duck so that I can render its fat for the confiting though

Watched our sister-in-law's new dog that isn't housebroken and scared of everything. :( But I was able to watch The Blind Side and Avatar this weekend, both good flicks.
