Friday Grand Theft Auto IV Shackbattle. First Edition

ThomW first came up with the idea and a lot of people seemed interested. So here we are. I don't know what to about servers or game types, so people reply with suggestions. I don't know if there are dedicated servers, but if not we can just invade an empty one. We can use one of the TeamSpeak channels for communication.

Last night I was playing Sacred 2 on my 360, and I started to hear a buzzing. I'm currently rolling the dice by leaving my Xbox in a "standing" position. I go over to the system, and go to eject the disk, and in the process I must have upsetted the delicate balance of the universe, because the 360 made a sound like:

"SHRRRIIIIIISSSSHHHKKKK!"

and then I made a sound like when Lando's leg got grabbed by the Sarlacc. (12th greatest scream of movie history, btw).

I ejected the disk, and saw a nice deep groove all along the outer quadrant of the disk, far deeper than any repair kit can possibly fix.

And then I made a scream like in Superman did in the 1979 movie, when Lois is dead (1st place, greatest scream of movie history).

The lesson I can impart is this: Turn it off by the controller if you hear a scary noise. This is probably a lesson that only the slowest of children need to be taught, but I thought I'd impart it anyway.

I should have waited to play my placement games until today or tomorrow. I got thoroughly raped last night in the 3 games that I did play. Watching the replay showed me that I was waaaaaaay out matched in those games.

I started watching SW Ep III last night (again) when I had this question:

During the scene where Obi Wan turns to Chancellor Palpatine and says, "Chancellor, Sith Lords are our speciality", there insues a brief light saber fight between Count Duku, Obi Wan and Anakin. I'm sure you recall the sequence.

Near the end of the fight, Duku uses a Force Push to throw Obi Wan into an overhanging balcony. Duku then uses the Force to collapse the balcony on to the unconscious Obi Wan. Perhaps you already see where I'm going with this.

Later in the elevator shaft, Obi Wan awakens uninjured.

Here's my question: Why wasn't Obi Wan crushed by the falling balcony?
Rationale: The collapsed balcony made contact with Obi Wan's body and appears to move him on impact. The crushing damage surely would have severed his spine.

Windows 7 issue.

I may push something accidentally, i clickedy click alot when reading web pages (as a bad habit).

Sometimes, about once a day, my applications sort of stop recieving clicks. Its not that they are not responding, trust me its different. Its almost like there is a hidden application on top of them.

My solution is a quick ctrl+alt+del, then cancel. Once i do that its fine.

Anyone have this occur?

I've reinstalled the OS and it is still there.

can someone please make a mod for Action Quake/Halflife for whatever new engine is easiest? I think AHL was universally panned because it got too ambitious with matrix-movie bullshit movement and diving and shit.

Just run, jump, crouch, pistols shotguns a submachine gun and an m4 (oh and a bolt-action sniper rifle). That's all you need! Oh and items: silencer, laser-dot, slippers, bandoleer, bullet-proof vest. Keep the emphasis on the pistol combat.

STALKER SOC HELP!

I have a strange bug (I've mentioned it before). When I load a save game, every enemy within a huge radius suddenly knows exactly where I am. When I save, I'll be completely hidden, but as soon as I load that save bullets fly in from all directions. It doesn't matter if I'm behind a wall, in a building or what, everyone is alerted to my presence.

Also, if I have my AK selected and I save, then select another weapon, when I load I'll have the weapon I just chose selected.

I've found numerous people with this same problem but no fixes. Any ideas?
