Blood Splashes Onto GOG
by Alice O'Connor, Apr 22, 2010 10:20am PDTMonolith's ultra-gory Build Engine shooter Blood has been digitally re-released on PC by virtual vendor Good Old Games, continuing its run of Atari additions as promised.
The $5.99 'One Unit Whole Blood' pack contains the delightful 1997 shooter, completely free from DRM, as well as its two 'Plasma Pak' and 'Cryptic Passage' addons. GOG's penchant for bonuses persists, with the downloadable soundtrack included for free.
A bloody lovely game, Blood had a dark sense of humour with quips from its gravel-voiced undead gunfighter Caleb and novel weapons including a pitchfork, flare gun, voodoo doll and dynamite with which to blow apart cultists, demons and monsters. At $6, it's a must-have for any fan of old school first-person shooters.
