Shack PSA: Deus Ex Bundle $5 on Steam

22
If you fancy yourself a die-hard gamer but don't own Ion Storm's classic Deus Ex or its less-beloved sequel Deus Ex: Invisible War, don't fret. Steam has you covered.

Deus Ex: The Conspiracy and Deus Ex: Invisible War

For the next few days, the digital distribution outlet is offering both shooters, together, at $5. Or, for those who really want to avoid Invisible War, a mere $2.50 each.

Such "Midweek Madness" sales usually end on Thursday afternoons, so be sure to act fast to justify your a) outcry or b) support regarding Eidos' impending prequel.

Playing the original should be mandatory for every citizen of the World.

It's corny, it doesn't take itself seriously all the time, it's made up of highly flawed parts... but you can't help feeling like the game succinctly explained everything that is right and wrong with the world past, present and immediate future in just 27 hours of fun.

First time I played the demo, it was hard. I put it away and moved on. I was convinced a few days later to give it another try. I approached the game differently than say Half Life and was immediatly sucked in. Bought the full game the next day. One of my all time fav games.

The bad thing about older games is the things they did 'first' years ago are sometimes standard fare by todays games standards so the awe we had when playing them then is expected in todays gaming world.

However, Deus Ex still stands heads and shoulders above most games in it ability to provide the player with several different options to solve the same problem.

I remember the first time I played, I thought finishing the Hong Kong VersaLife lab put me close to the end of the game. How wrong I was.

Still, the Hong Kong hub area has always been my favorite part of the game.

I dunno why, but the most memorable moment for me saving certain daughter of certain somebody in the desert...
I mean... it was like "its impossible" but JC was like "impossible is my middle name"... and I managed to save her and everybody was like "whoa... JC youre like... really awesome" :))

I still mutter "greasy greasy greasles" to myself occasionally. Does this make me a damaged individual?

That was a great thing about Deus Ex, that it kept making you think you were getting close to the end when there was still much more mystery to unravel.

I dunno, I seem to recall having over 40 hours of fun playing it way back when ;)
