Evening Reading: What Are You Playing?

by Brian Leahy, Apr 16, 2010 5:00pm PDT

Another week comes to a close and it's time to find out what you fools will be playing over the weekend. Will you be diving into Splinter Cell: Conviction or checking out the Skate 3 demo?

Me? Well, I'll be tied to my precious StarCraft II beta and I'm going to try and start Just Cause 2, but I haven't decided if I'll play it on PC or Xbox 360 yet.

  • Grand Theft Auto 4 PC.

The GTA games are one of those games...
They are like a 6-step program for me.
1.I play heavily for a quite bit of time
2.I get eventually frustrated w/ a mission b/c the lack of autosaves w/in a mission force me to restart a long-winded multiple-piece missions and keep failing every time I seem to retry it.
3.Take a break/vacation far away from the game for a period of time.
(could be maybe for days; weeks; or maybe months - who knows)
4.End my GTA vacation and go back to playing some more GTA
5.Finish that mission that was annoying me and jump for joy.
    6.Go back to step #1.

  • I've started playing Demon's Souls and I'm a little surprised at the way this game is able to draw the most vile and complex curses from me. I mean, we are talking several sentence long, flowing, intricate curses on the game, the people who made it and the controller itself for obviously misinterpreting every move I make.

The game is brilliant, I don't think I have ever enjoyed something that is obviously going to give me a stroke so much. It's getting to the point where I now run everywhere with my shield up and people at work are starting to talk.
