Two Lead Animators Next in Infinity Ward Exodus
by Brian Leahy, Apr 14, 2010 5:48pm PDTTwo more leads have departed from Infinity Ward today, Kotaku reports. Yesterday, four more departures were confirmed and today Mark Grigsby (lead animator) and Paul Messerly (lead character animator) have resigned.
Mark Grigsby also voiced the Seargent Griggs character in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and rapped over the game's credits (audio NSFW).
Paul Messerly had been with Infinity Ward since its formation and previously worked at 2015 Inc. with ousted IW heads Jason West and Vince Zampella.
This puts the total number of departures from Infinity Ward (including West and Zampella) at 13, most of them being leads on the team that created Modern Warfare 2. Smart money is on most if not all of these developers joining up with Respawn Entertainment, following West and Zampella.

Sorry but who sells their company and then thinks that despite all the smiles, hand shakes and best intentions that come the crunch you're not going to be doing what the boss wants? Sometimes it never comes up, sometimes the boss is happy to let you run the show, sometimes the boss wants you to pimp out your dog and kick your wife because it'll put 5c on the share price.
Not siding with Activision but these two clearly looked to not only find a way out but also bring down the house. I'd be shocked if they weren't reliant upon this whole thing to build enough buzz to establish their new venture. Lets put it this way, if this was some dissatisfied moral stand they were making they'd have all walked off the lot before MW2 was even done.
As for other examples. Fair point. off the top of my head I can only think of Molyneux as an industry player who's moved from place to place without needing to throw shit to get some blog lines.
