Is it worth the 30 bucks? or is it the same as the first game, really repetitive.

It's exactly like the first one, there's just more to do. If you didn't like the first one, I really can't see why you would like this one ALL THAT MUCH more. IT'S ALMOST EXACTLY THE SAME.
I'm not saying I don't like it. I loved the first one for what it was, and I'm having a blast with the second one -- I just have a problem with people that think this one is somehow waaaay better than the first.
So, to recap: It's awesome, but so was the first one. If you didn't like the first one, I'm not sure why you would like the second. :-\

No, totally disagree. It is hardly exactly the same.
1. Better progression of story with gameplay. The 1st felt like story - grind grind grind grind - story - grind...
2. You can skip all the side missions and just do main ones if you want... and no annoying research this & that before making your kill that you had to do in EVERY SINGLE MISSION in the first game.
3. Way more variety in gameplay like the coach, flying, boating etc
4. You don't have to gallop over miles of the same territory back and forth like the 1st
5. You don't have to exit the Animus, in fact you rarely do it in the game at all and it's part of the story.
I was bored of the 1st game in a few hours, this one is much better overall imo.-
In AC1 (PC, which is unarguably the better version):
1. Each side mission contributed a piece of knowledge you could examine to help figure out the best way to attack each target, or just more info on the characters themselves. Each one was an interesting and usually morally ambiguous rather than evil. (For this reason the deathbed confessions were actually far more enjoyable than in AC2, where you usually don't get anything out of it and it becomes very repetitive.)
2. You only had to do three side mssions, so as long as you scaled the viewpoints first to find out what options there were available you could simply choose whichever you find to be the most enjoyable.
3. Yeah, there's more variety in AC2.
4. Then skip those bits. It specifically asked whether you wanted to fast forward through those parts.
5. Although unfortunately unfulfilled in its potential (Desmond is still as dumb as a plank), the mystery detective aspect of the out-of-the-Animus short missions was very enjoyable.
I'm still not bored of the first game after three twenty-hour playthroughs.
