Shack PSA: Batman $27 on Consoles

5
It may not be as enticing as the sale that saw Batman: Arkham Asylum PC temporarily marked down to just $12.50, but Amazon.com offering the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 editions of Batman: Arkham Asylum at $26.99 each is still a pretty good deal.

Released in August 2009 to rave reviews and commercial success, the comic-inspired stealth-action game currently has a sequel plus an enhanced "Game of the Year Edition" in the works, the latter adding support for 3D visuals and including 3D glasses.

The sale concludes when Amazon.com runs out of stock or the day ends, whatever happens first. For those unsure of which version to get, the PlayStation 3 version has some exclusive downloadable content, including the ability to play as The Joker. Can someone who played both, PC and 360 version comment on which one plays better? I think this game should be perfect for a console but I haven't even played a demo yet. Does PC version have any good graphics tweak or mods? Custom maps?

I haven't played both versions but the PC version has PhysX if you have an nvidia card and you can download a map pack off GFWL for free too.

PC looks the best, Nvidia card or not. I played with a 360 controller but the mouse and keyboard seemed to work very well.

So you prefered the controller over mouse+keyboard? That's what I'm mainly interested in, if the game plays best with a controller I might as well get it for my 360 and play it on my beautifull 42" plasma.

The MS controller has been seen for cheap off and on. I've been tempted to grab it for these console ports. Kinda wish I had and then grabbed the PC version on that crazy sale. d'oh

I finally got the demo on xbox and just like I suspected this game is perfect to play with a controller layed back on a couch on a huge screen TV. Absolutely no need for the mouse, the only aiming you ever do when the mouse might come in handly is when you throw a batarang and from what I've seen from the demo you almost never do that and even then the hit boxes on bad guys seem pretty big and pretty easy to hit.

That's pretty much my pet peeve with consoles, I absolutely hate playing shooting games with gamepads since I pretty much only played FPSes for the past 15 years with a mouse. I generally only play them if they're console exclusives, like Gears of War. So every time my younger bro talks me into playing against him on 360 I feel like a total noob getting dominated and it just frustrates the hell out of me knowing that if we played on PC he probably wouldn't get a single kill on me.

Never played on console but the PC version looks amazing. God damn I hate playing games on consoles. Though I am sort of kind of in love with my new PS3.

Obviously PC is gonna look the best, especially with PhysX enabled. In terms of consoles, the PS3 version is the only one where you can play as the Joker in Challenges, other than that the two consoles are the same.
