Serious Sam HD: The Second Encounter PC Release Date Confirmed

Croteam's enhanced high-def revamp of Serious Sam: The Second Encounter will be available on PC come April 28, 2010, producer Devolver Digital has confirmed following a recent update to the game's pre-order page by digital distributor Steam.

Regularly priced at $19.99 and marked down to $17.99 for pre-orders, Serious Sam HD: The Second Encounter promises all the content and frantic shooting of the original, plus new secrets, bosses, enemies, multiplayer modes, multiplayer maps and such.

A downloadable Xbox 360 edition of Serious Sam HD: The Second Encounter is also coming, though there's been no word as to exactly when or how much it'll be.

    There's a part of me that hope this game will prove that remakes aren't really funny in video games and will shut the unrelenting "remake X old game with Y new engine!" people.

    But it does look good and since I never played the original I might just pick this one up.

      SS:TSE is a great game ... it was so good that I did not pick up the HD version of the first one, but will pick this (or a combo, for cheap) of both.

      I might even pick up an extra copy or two to lend out to friends to play with me.
