Microsoft Changes MS Point Bundle Amounts

Microsoft has quietly changed the bundle packages for MS Points, its online currency for use with Xbox Live and Games for Windows Live.

Previously, points were available in 500 ($6.25), 1000 ($12.50), 2000 ($25.00), and 5000 ($62.50) bundles. Now, gamers can snag the following bundles on his or her Xbox 360 or from the Xbox Live Marketplace website.

Xbox LIVE 400 Microsoft Points bundle - $4.99
Xbox LIVE 800 Microsoft Points bundle - $9.99
Xbox LIVE 1600 Microsoft Points bundle - $19.99
Xbox LIVE 4000 Microsoft Points bundle - $49.99

This is a welcome change as it puts the point bundles in line with most DLC prices, which should help reduce the amount of leftover points after buying content.

is this absurd to anyone else?

400 points: 4,99$
2x 400 points = 9,98$ (compared with 9,99$ for 800)
4 x 400 points = 19,96$ (compared with 19,99$ for 1600)
10x 400 points = 49,90$ (compared with 49,99$ for 4000)

buying in packs of 400 you save a penny each time!

it's not a big deal but it is absurd!

I hate this system. Let me pay via Paypal or something else that is from the real world. Its a pain in the ass to spend money on Xbox Live with these made up fucking smurf coins. I can only use points from the country I registered in and I CAN NOT CHANGE that country, so because I moved, I am fucked! Thank you MS for yet another brilliant system.

Way way better than what they had before, but I wish they did it like Sony's PSN where they will only charge you what you need to make that transaction, which is awesome.

What's absurd is people willing to pay for the game plus DLC. Wait until the game is older and bundled with all the DLC. Then you get the core game plus DLC for less than the original.
