Gears of War 3 Due in April 2011, Ad Reveals

10
Gears of War 3 has reportedly been revealed once again, this time by an ad on the Xbox Live dashboard dating the sequel for April 2011, as spotted by Kotaku and Joystiq.

The ad comes the day after Gears of War developer Epic Games' Clifford Michael Bleszinski was due to appear on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon--an appearance that was bumped back to next Monday in favour of teenage heartthrob Justin Bieber.

It also confirms one portion of the rumors making the rounds--the expected release date--though other details like underwater combat are still unconfirmed.

Shacknews was unable to confirm the ad's presence on Xbox Live, though Microsoft has had ample time to pull it. We'll no doubt hear the official announcement on Monday.

I know people are all over this game, but I really found the art direction to be very annoying. It's so detailed that it's hard to focus and distinguish various points of interest from others. I'm sure this will be true for GoW3, but...I really hope it fades away from Epic's style in future games.

As someone who likes r_picmip 5...I 100% agree. The detail is overboard/downright distracting.

Yeah, this has been Epic's general art style since UT2003. Really getting sick of Slab Bulkhead with grayish-brown dust all over the place.
