2010 FIFA World Cup Demo Hits Consoles

A downloadable demo of EA Sports' 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa is now available to Xbox 360 owners with an Xbox Live Gold membership via Xbox Live and those with access to the PlayStation 3's European PlayStation Store.

It remains to be seen if the North American PlayStation Store will include the demo in its weekly update, expected later today, or if the sample will follow later on. [UPDATE] The demo is now available in the North American PlayStation Store.[/UPDATE]

Coming from series veteran EA Canada, 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa hits North America on April 27 then Europe and Asia on April 30. PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii and PSP versions are in the works, with the Wii version sporting "an art style that celebrates the cultural vibrancy of the first FIFA World Cup to be held in Africa."

    So is this just a slightly tweaked 2010 targeting the World Cup? There's a proper 2011 coming in the fall, no?

      yep. I like the special tournament games, though. Euro 2008 was really good.
