Released alongside the device itself this past weekend, the iPad rendition of Sam & Max: The Penal Zone is now sporting a "special introductory price" of $6.99 on iTunes.

Regularly $9.99 on iPad, The Penal Zone marks the first of the five episodes planned for the third season of Telltale's adventure series.

PC / MAC and PlayStation 3 editions of The Penal Zone are due next Thursday, April 15. The rest of the season, dubbed "The Devil's Playhouse," will follow monthly.

  I think they're trying to curtail the concerns that at $10 a pop, the iPad series would cost more than either the PC/Mac or PS3 versions if you pre-ordered. iTunes doesn't appear to allow preordering /bundling of apps yet, so this is their best solution

    I wonder if they could allow you to order then next episode as DLC to the current episode at a discounted price?

    Well it's shitty of them to drop the price 3 days after launch. I bought it for $9.99 and am pretty pissed at this.
