PopCap's sixty-second Facebook version of its block-matching puzzler Bejeweled has been re-spun off into its own standalone PC game, with a 56MB demo available on FileShack.

Available now from PopCap for $19.95, Blitz condenses all the fun of Bejeweled into sixty-second rounds with power-ups that can be either bought or earned in-game. The game can also connect to Facebook, to continue competitions and spamming their friends' feeds with high score notifications.

is it me, or is $20 a bit expensive for something you can still play for free on facebook?

Even crazier - it's just an additional mode on the $2.99 iPhone version of Bejeweled.

Just what I wanted in Bejewled, for the game to be cut crazy short and spam my friends.

I remember telling one of the popcap guys before he started popcap that charging people $20 for a casual game is crazy. He's now a multi-millionaire and I am dumb.
