Free Doctor Who Adventure Game Series Announced; Broken Sword Creator Onboard
by Alice O'Connor, Apr 08, 2010 5:40am PDTPopular British sci-fi television series Doctor Who is to become a free downloadable episodic adventure game, the British Broadcasting Corporation announced today.
The two-hour episodes will put players in charge of time-travelling alien The Doctor and his new companion Amy, thrown into unusual adventures across the far corners of time and space to solve mysteries and defeat foes including the sinister Cybermen.
Broken Sword 4 co-developer Sumo Digital is handling development, overseen by Doctor Who personnel including head writer and executive producer Steven Moffat as well as Broken Sword and Beneath a Steel Sky creator Charles Cecil.
The first free episode will be released for PC and Mac in June 2010. In January the BBC unveiled plans to also create commercial games based upon its popular properties.

Watched the first episode of this latest season though and loved it.
Fairly skeptical about this "free" game, it's likely it'll be free either because you can't sell something so bad, or there's some other agenda here.
