Resonance of Fate Battle Tutorial Video
by Brian Leahy, Apr 07, 2010 1:00pm PDTThe Japanese RPG Resonance of Fate was released on March 16 for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, but may have flown under your radar due a certain high-profile JRPG coming out one week earlier.
If you aren't big on swords and sorcery in your RPGs, SEGA's Resonance of Fate features copious amounts of diving and/or firing guns in mid-air, as seen in this video explaining the game's rather complex combat system.

The environment and music are pretty unique for the genre, and the characters are pretty likable, along with there being some pretty decent comedic moments.
It does have its share of bizarre Japanese moments, but it's so far above recent tri-Ace efforts that you'd hardly believe it was the same developer.
And the combat is pretty much the opposite of FFXIII. You have access to everything you'll ever be able to do from the first battle, which is good on the one hand, but it can make things somewhat repetitive later on when you realize that "this is it", and there are no new abilities to learn or special attacks or anything of that nature.
