Shack PSA: MLB 2K10 PC Just $2.99 Today

8
With the Major League Baseball season officially kicking off, retailer GameStop is celebrating with a ridiculously deep discount on 2K Sports' MLB 2K10 PC.

Normally $29.99, the 7.07GB download has been marked down to just $2.99--that's 90% off--under the guise of GameStop's "Daily Deal." The sale only applies to a digital download of the PC edition--all other versions (PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii, Nintendo DS, PSP and PC Retail) have retained their respective pricing.

Each purchase includes three licenses, which, according to GameStop, "means you may install the game on other computers and activate it up to 3 times." Be forewarned that GameStop will automatically add a $3.95 "Download Insurance" charge to your cart alongside the game--meant to ensure that "a back up copy of these Digital Good(s) will be available to you for download for up to eighteen (18) months from the date of purchase"--though this can be removed. Oddly, it's not clear how long the download will be available if that insurance is not purchased. Thanks Lunatic Angelic .

Hmm... is it worth it? Gamespot gives it a 5.5 and calls it a buggy piece of shit. IGN gives it a 7.3.

Not worth getting just to get. But I hate baseball games, so I'm pretty biased about it.

I have it on steam and it's ok. The problems I have with it is this:
-the screen still shows different button assignments when using the Xbox controller adapter (says c for x and d for y buttons)
-the fielders are WAY too good because they never make an error and catch anything within reach (including the pitcher which catches everything up the middle), the whole time I've played I've never seen an error (ive played about 15 games so far)
-the pitching seems a little difficult to hit when playing against another person and hardly any walks happen

its been a million fkn years since ive played a baseball game (i think it was baseball simulator 1000 for the snes), but im actually gonna check this out for the "my player" that people seem to dig, and also because of the dirt cheap price. had it been over 5 or 10 maybe, i woulda passed.
