Blizzard Celebrates April Fools' Day with Dating Service, Blackthorne 2 and New Merch

Always one to get in the spirit of April Fools' Day 2010, esteemed developer Blizzard Entertainment (Diablo, StarCraft, World of Warcraft) has rolled out this year's gags.

First, Battle.net matchmaking to help you "find someone to pwn noobs with."

Next, word that a sequel to Blizzard's cult-classic Blackthorne is due in the form of Blackthorne 2: Thorne Harder, coming to mobile devices in 2010. Also (not really) coming to mobile is Queen's Quest, a text-controlled adventure with old-school DRM.

Moving on to World of Warcraft, Blizzard unveiled the Equipment Potency EquivalencE Number (EPEEN), said to "let World of Warcraft players know exactly where they stand in comparison to other players" thanks to an ever-growing on-screen indicator.

Last, but not least, the company debuted some new merchandise, including the Battle.net Neural Interface ($14,999.00), Diablo III Deckard Cain X-Treme Gamer Blanket, Diablo III Body Pillows and Diablo III Deckard Cain GPS Voice Pack.

Yeah, you know what? I'd rather have them spend the money on that surgery you need to get the stick out your ass.

Jeez, it was more of a way to say how I am still craving for D3. Thats why I made an emote behind the sentence. Maybe you should get the tree out of your rear. ;)

Developers that are made to only work and never goof around go nuts and become uninspired. Let them have their fun.

I agree give me D3, still I do appreciate the effort but I must admit I like their web stuff April fools efforts way way better than this.

I really don't think the video was funny (I didn't laugh), most of the people in the video where annoying, it just was not cool... or funny... border line stupid.

Sorry, thanks for the effort though.

Seriously? How much time and money do you think they ACTUALLY put into this stuff? They probably spent thier lunch break making this stuff.

And if you think youre going to see D3 this year then you are sadly delusional.

I'm sure the four hours the Blizzard staff toilets went without being cleaned as a few interns threw this together had no effect on Diablo 3's launch date.
