Cliff Bleszinski to Debut New Game on Fallon's Show

Update: EGM has posted a page to subscribe to its relaunched print & digital magazine. Looking closely at the cover reveals "Gears of War 3" as one of the featured games.

According to a tweet by NBC Late Night host Jimmy Fallon, Epic Games' Cliff Bleszinski will be debuting Epic's new game on the show next Thursday, April 8th.

Epic is rumored to be working on Gears of War 3 for the Xbox 360 as well as a new intellectual property for Electronic Arts with the Epic-owned developer People Can Fly (Painkiller).

Epic Games' Gears of War 2

Epic Games last released Gears of War 2 in 2008 and Unreal Tournament 3 in 2007 before that. Epic also released Shadow Complex through wholly-owned subsidiary Chair Entertainment in 2009.

Late Night with Jimmy Fallon airs at 12:35AM EST/11:35PM CST. West coast viewers will likely see it on the Internet before the show hits their timezone.

I'm kind of blown away that there is going to be a game announcement on a late night talk show. I remember living in an age where video games were an obscure or niche hobby that instantly deemed you as geeky and uncool (...they still kinda do) and you never heard a mention of them from your non-gamer friends or the general public.

NOW its really popular and I'm seeing them everywhere. When I was watching the UFC 111 fight, every fight started off with "This fight is brought to you by God of War III, in the end, there will be only chaos." - and there was a Dante's Inferno commercial in the Super Bowl.

epic originally said that Gears3 wouldn't be released on this gen of consoles. I guess that was back when the lifespan of these consoles wasn't as long as it is now though. It makes sense for them to complete the trilogy on 360. Especially as they may b waiting a while for the next gen to show up.
