A newly-released, developer-driven trailer for R.U.S.E., Ubisoft's real-time strategy game of historic warfare, delves into a bit more detail about some of the title's more advanced multiplayer strategies, combos, modes, while also underlining subtle differences between the game's different factions.

Senior Producer Mathieu Gerard and Creative Director Alexis Le Dressay give a couple of examples of how the game's special team abilities, called "ruses" can be strategically combined to achieve better results in combat. Proper unit pairing is also an important key to successfully engaging the enemy. Especially neat is the ability to build a dummy structure that enemies will think is your base, while your actual primary structure is safely camouflaged elsewhere.

The open beta for R.U.S.E. has already been downloaded over one million times by members of the Steam community. The full game is expected to hit store shelves on June 8 for PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3.

The game is so ridiculously light on actual strategy aspects, with too many stupid, unexplained differences between the factions, with no balance whatsoever, it's not even worthy of being called a strategy title.

if you mean micomanagement that is more like tactics than strategy. i thought the game does strategy really well, its fun pulling off a fake offensive enabling you to flank the enemy, and the encyclopedia in the game explained the faction differences though it is a fair amount of reading.

Well, that's your opinion. This newest build feels pretty damn balanced to me. The game is definitely getting there. Great fun strategy for sure.

Another idiot who doesn't know the difference between strategy and starcraft.

What needs to be explained? Each faction has different types of units that do different things. Are you a r r r r ritard?
