Morning Discussion

I almost finished Deus Ex once again over the weekend. Almost a decade after release, it's still a brilliant video game. 1,873 saves now, by the way--I'll stop after this, I promise.

I hereby declare today Riot Grrrl Monday, because it has to be something. Get down with your bad self and watch for the auto-starting music.

I did the same with Mass Effect 2 over the last couple of days. 2 days of 8+ hour sessions ending at after 2am and now I'm really tired at work :( But I did complete it!

Where are you? I just finished the Labyrinth. The final fight there was brutal. Right now I just jumped back into the hole to the underworld and there's a nasty fight. I fucking hate satyrs. I have hated them since I met them in the original God of War.

I think I just passed the 10 hour mark. Most of my weapons are maxed out, and I am pissed I just now realized that there are invisible treasure chests. I have little health :(

Look for places that you can see waves in the air, like you'd see above a hot surface. Then use the head of Helios to illuminate the area just like you would a secret wall.

Yeah, there are alot of hidden red orb chests behind walls and invisible. Equally important is the old trick of running the opposite direction when the camera makes it seem like you should run one way. They love to hide chests just off screen.

I did grow some last year actually, I need to get on it again now it's getting warm.
There's a problem with our balcony at the moment though, so I can't go out there to plant anything.

Yeah - as soon as we start getting decent weather here I need to get planting in season, I started close to winter last year and they still provided me with lots of awesome chillis. You can get some pretty cool varieties of seeds online too.

I don't remember and cant seem to find any trace of it in my gmail accounts. Maybe I never ordered online, I distinctly remember browsing and seeing lots of stuff. I think I might have had them bought for me last time.

Really sick of impulsively buying 'must have' games as if they will no longer be available if I don't buy on launch :( such a bad habit.

I got Uncharted 2 and Forza 3 on day one, love them both but haven't finished either - I should do them first.
Then there's GoW3, Bayonetta, GTA addon, Dante's and Heavy rain,.. 5 fucking games in one batch - may as well delay 4 to 12 weeks and get them at reduced prices.

This is what I use Gamefly for. I get the new games here but don't have to keep buying them. Of course sometimes that also means I feel like I have to rush through one game to get to the other.

              Australia.
Also I like owning games for later - especially good single player ones, I want to support them.

I like the idea of owning such games for later, but I know that practically there's no real value in it for me. My collection of unplayed games tends to grow rather than shrink, and even when compared to a game I love I figure it's better to play something new most of the time.

As for supporting them, there are various games that I'll absolutely buy for just that reason. Renting tends to let me play the new stuff that I'd never spend $60 on, especially if it's something I know I'll play through in a few days.

I was trying to finish God of War 2 last night (have the Collection) so I can start 3. I rented it at release and it's been sitting there patiently.

I still have the last battle to go in 2 though.

Maybe I should have done that, but the first two GoWs were already on my to-play list because of all the attention they got. If I went right to 3, I probably never would have played them.

There's also the fact that my wife decided to just buy me the collection one day when we were at the store. There's no way I was going to own a copy of it and still skip over it for 3.

I played the shit out of GoW1 and the PSP version (which is equally awesome). For some reason I just didn't buy 2 right away when it came out though. I do have the collection for ps3 though

I picked up the original relatively late because I actually didn't know what kind of game it was. Then a friend of mine suggested it and I picked it up used for like $20, and dove into it and loved it. Then I got II and III both on their release days .

You mean the Zeus battle? It wasn't particularly hard, and I was really glad I finished 2 because it sets up the start of 3 perfectly. I was pumped up all ready to run out to the shops and buy 3 straight away but I managed to control my rage fuelled impulses.

Yeah. I finished the fight with the beast of many boobies and I saved in front of some big mirror I think.

I would have finished it, it wasn't that late, but we wanted to watch a movie and I had just gotten to the save point. It's cool though, because then this evening I can go right from the end of 2 into the beginning of 3. I think some other shackers have said 3 starts in pretty epic fashion, plus it should look amazing compared with the collection, so I'm excited.
