New Splatterhouse Screens: Here's Blood in Your Eye
by Jeff Mattas, Mar 25, 2010 1:00pm PDTSome incredibly violent screenshots for Namco Bandai's next-gen remake of the 1988 classic Splatterhouse franchise have bludgeoned their way into the daylight. You can almost hear the the wet, thudding smacks of Rick's spiked bat as he turns hordes of the game's mutated horrors into crimson stains.
As previously reported, the game began development at the now-defunct indie studio, BottleRocket, but has since been taken over by Namco Bandai's internal Afro Samurai development team.
Sadly, there aren't any shots of the masked protagonist beating enemies to death with one of his own severed limbs, but players will be able to look forward to other such insane combat-based improvisation when the dismemberment-laden brawler comes out for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 sometime between July 1 and September 30 of this year.
