PixelJunk Racers 2nd Lap Coming in Spring, PixelJunk Monsters PSP Getting UMD Release

In a double-dose of news from developer Q-Games, the studio has officially unveiled its next PlayStation 3 release--PixelJunk Racers 2nd Lap--and confirmed that its downloadable strategy game PixelJunk Monsters PSP is to receive a physical release.

"PixelJunk Racers 2nd Lap is a bit of a fan service really," studio president Dylan Cuthbert explained on the PlayStation.Blog. "We went back to the original Racers and added Trophies, but we didn't want to just stop there (just adding the bare minimum isn't really what we do). So we added a whole new feature - ghost attack."

Like the original PixelJunk Racers, 2nd Lap will be released in downloadable form through the PlayStation 3's PlayStation Store. No word on pricing, but it's due in spring.

As for the retail release of PixelJunk Monsters Deluxe PSP, the UMD will be available through North American shops beginning April 27 and sports the same $19.99 price point as the downloadable edition currently available through the PlayStation Store.
