Wipeout Brings Big Red Balls to Wii and DS
by Chris Faylor, Mar 18, 2010 2:10pm PDTAre you ready to Wipeout on Wii and Nintendo DS this summer? No, not the futuristic hovercraft racing franchise. The ABC television show. You know, Wipeout.
Ready or not, Wipeout: The Game is coming from publisher Activision, and it's bringing "the beloved Big Balls" and other aspects of the obstacle course along for the ride. Fortunately, up to four players can play at once, meaning that you won't have to "take on the Big Red Balls" or "the brutal Sucker Punch" all by your lonesome.
"The countless fans who express their interest in running the Wipeout course will get their chance and they'll even be able to do so minus, the mud, foam, colored paint, cold water in the comfort of their homes," David Goldberg, chairman of show producer Endemol North America, noted in today's announcement--a statement that implies he doesn't understand why people want to appear on the messy, painful show in the first place.
"From day one, we believed that Wipeout's action oriented, comedic sensibility lent itself perfectly to the video game genre and it's very exciting to see our ambition realized."
