Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Sells Over 2.3 Million
by Chris Faylor, Mar 18, 2010 8:10am PDTBoasting that Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is "on pace to be the top selling title for March 2010," publisher Electronic Arts today revealed that the DICE-developed shooter has sold over 2.3 million copies since hitting
North America (March 2) and Europe (March 4).
The company even pointed to the game's various multiplayer issues as a sign of its success. "In the first 48 hours we had such a tremendous rush to multiplayer gameplay that our servers experienced overwhelming demand," said executive producer Karl Magnus Troedsson. "This is a testament to the massive response players have had worldwide for the extraordinary action experienced in the Battlefield sandbox."
However, those issues should now be in the past. "DICE and EA have brought more servers online," he explained. "We now have enough capacity to handle all BFBC2 connections seamlessly and we continue to monitor online play daily."
A variety of other stats on the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 title were also provided:
81B points have been earned in online multiplayer sessions 43M weapons and gadgets have been unlocked in online multiplayer Over 6M video views on YouTube 2.9M hours have been spent playing online in the last 24 hours alone 230K peak-concurrent-users (PCUs) Over 44k Twitter fans (most out of any EA title)

Why on earth they don't have this stuff built into the game I'll never know. 15+ year old games have proper mouse settings in-game as well as things like AUTOBALANCING...HELLO DICE.
Anyway, it's like a whole new game playing without the crazy negative mouse accel.

An amazing achievement to be sure. I even manage to have a little fun when the rest of my team sucks.

I think the other issue for me is that I dislike feeling like I'm behind the stupid power curve simply because I couldn't poop-sock through this for the past 2 weeks to level-up and get all the overwhelming goodies. Meh.
And "Sigh."

Jeez, imagine the pyramid we could build with that kind of labor. We could even market it as a "free exercise routine" -- Those fat nerds would never know what hit 'em.

I follow vgchartz closely and whenever a developer claims a sales figure that figure is usually very close to what vgchartz already have reported. That said vgchartz (and nobody else afaik) report on PC figures.
