Game Developers Choice Award Winners Named; Uncharted 2 Wins Big
by Chris Faylor, Mar 12, 2010 6:00pm PSTIn a double-whammy of awarding goodness, the winners of the tenth annual Game Developers Choice Awards were revealed yesterday evening at Game Developers Conference 2010 following the twelfth annual Independent Games Festival Awards.
This time around, winners were selected by "a new invitation-only group comprised of 500 leading game creators from all parts of the video game industry" known as the International Choice Awards Network--a departure from previous years, in which "each award [was] decided by thousands of votes from game professionals worldwide."
As for the various nominees, they were "chosen via a combination of open game industry nominations and the votes of the leading creators in the Choice Awards Advisory Committee," and those nominations were "open to any video game, with no restrictions or payment for game submission."
