God of War 3 Screenshots: Puny Kratos

What's that, Kratos? You think you're big stuff, just because you've slayed some mythological deities? Why, I think it's time that you were offered some perspective.

How ever will Kratos fight his way out of this predicament? You'll have to wait until God of War III hits North America on March 16--that's next Tuesday--to find out. Should you want to try the PlayStation 3 exclusive on for size before then, a demo showcasing its extreme brutality is currently available for download from the online PlayStation Store.

I'm not one to really gush about any games at all. Nor am I any sort of fanboy, but GOD DAMN. If I was to summarize the word "epic" in terms of any game...I think God of War 3 would be it.

I was late to the hype train of this. Played the previous GoW games and was mildly excited, but they've really kicked it up a notch.

After playing the demo for GoW3 I was hooked. It was absolutely beautiful and was a joy to play. They keep it pretty simple, and that's not a bad thing.

Looking forward to a good sitdown with this.

I got about 1/3rd through the first one, and haven't touched the second. But posts like this will have me checking it out I imagine.

You can get the demo on the PSN now. It was exclusively available to people who bought the GoW1/2 pack. God of War 1 gets most people hooked with the first fight with the Hydra. The demo at the end will put a smile on your face. If you aren't hyped to get GoW3 after the demo then don't...wait to borrow it or rent it.

A lot of people nitpick about the quicktime events, but let's be honest...this is a very indulgent game. It's not meant to give you the rewards of using your brain to make successful strategic decisions. It's a very mashy beat em up, but that's the brilliance of it. Anyone can enjoy it regardless of skill level, and there is a challenge there if you look for it. Increase the difficulty, time attack, high combo targets...whatever, but the whole time you're doing something awesome.

The puzzle solving aspects get to some people. Also randomly people will find challenges that are difficult and give up. This isn't as bad as Ninja Gaiden, and most fights can be overcome quite easily.

Always remind yourself...more awesomeness to come if you ever get stuck :) There is a reason this game is high on many people/publications top X games of any system. It's great gameplay...pure and simple!
