Though the PlayStation 3's impending Motion Controller won't be available until this fall, publisher Electronic Arts today confirmed that Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11--due June 8 on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii and iPhone-- will support for the device .

In addition, the company noted that EA Tiburon's latest entry in the annual golfing franchise will include "The Ryder Cup" competition on all formats, and also revealed that Woods will be sharing the game's cover with European golfter Rory McIlroy

The PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 editions will include online team play--"a first for the franchise," says EA--for up to twenty-four players, while the Wii version packs "two all-new enhanced swing mechanics while using the Wii MotionPlus [add-on]."

As for the PlayStation 3 Motion Controller, the company claims it will "give gamers an authentic interactive swing experience." Electronic Arts has vowed to support both the PlayStation Motion Controller and the Xbox 360's motion-sensitive Project Natal add-on upon their respective launches. However, PlayStation Motion Control support can be added post-release via patch, whereas Natal support apparently can't.
