New Xbox 360 Elite Bundle Packs Two Games

Celebrating the seasonal change, Microsoft has unveiled a new Xbox 360 Elite hardware bundle that includes two games at no extra cost.

Carrying the same $299.99 price as a regular Xbox 360 Elite, the "Spring Bundle" packs Bungie's sci-fi shooter Halo 3: ODST and Turn 10's racer Forza Motorsport 3--both Xbox 360 exclusives--alongside the Xbox 360 Elite hardware and its 120GB hard drive.

In a sly bit of marketing, the inclusion of Halo 3: ODST also means that buyers will get access to the multiplayer beta for Halo: Reach when it kicks off May 3.

As for when the Xbox 360 Elite Spring Bundle will be on store shelves, Microsoft says that it's "available now." Meanwhile, retailer Amazon.com shows it as releasing either today or shipping early next week, depending on which page you look at.

Why cant Sony do this with more PS3 games??? I'm guessing its because Sony is already subsidizing the system?

Probably. MS has a lot more leeway with the 360 to offer these kinds of bundles and not lose much(if any) money. Sony's kind of up against the wall...what I'm wondering is why Nintendo doesn't offer more of these kinds of deals with the Wii. Greedy bastards.

        MS: Because they can.
Nintendo: Because they don't have to.
        Sony: Fucked, cost-wise.
