Shack PSA: Steam PC Savings on Deus Ex, Hitman and Battlefield Bad Company 2 Bundles

24
Though it's only Monday, Steam is already rolling out the PC digital download savings.

First up, a Battlefield: Bad Company 2 four-pack. Sure, it may sound mighty expensive at $149.97, but split it four ways and that's just $37.50 (a savings of 25%) per copy.

In addition, Steam will be running daily discounts on games published by Square Enix and Eidos across the next week, with today's offerings outlined below:

They did the same thing with Borderlands, except the 4 pack came out just before release instead of days after...sigh...

Agreed. But the game is fun as hell and well worth the price I paid for it.

They did the same thing also for Left 4 Dead 2. Something like a week ro two later it was 25% off for their Holiday sales.

That's the one big thing I hate about Steam... a recent game release goes on sale like within a month.

I just stick to my Steam-buying-rule: never buy anything off it that isn't on sale. Cause guaranteed it'll be going on sale at some point.

Not really the same thing. L4D2 also had a pre-order discount price of $45, and the 4-pack pre-order was $125 rather than the $149 it is now (and BC2).

Bad Company 2 pre-orders also had the bonus of playing the game a month early in the beta, that's why people pre-ordered.

I would agree with this as well.

Particularly with the amount of down-time that's been going on last week.

I'm actually pretty happy about this. Just more incentive for the 4 buddies I've been prodding to buy the game. I still feel like I got my moneys worth from being in the beta and having it at launch.

you did get beta access by pre-ordering, but oh well every time there is a sale on steam or bundle pack there is something like this..... such is life

but it wasn't required to get into the beta. Anyone that wanted beta access could get it within the first week of it's inception.

I wouldn't exactly say we got fucked up the ass, as I definitely feel I'm going to get my moneys worth (and probably have already) but yeah it would have been nice to see the 4 pack BEFORE it was released like all other 4 pack deals on Steam (remember it's not just Valve that's been doing the 4 packs before release kiddies).

Early adopters/day 1 buyers always eat it. Its the price you pay for having it asap.

Just think how much money you couldve saved over your lifetime if you waited a month or 2 before buying a new game.

      early adopter'd

seriously guys this happens in one way for every fucking PC game ever. you'd think if you're the type of person who absolutely must play day 1 releases you'd be used to it.
