Aliens vs. Predator DLC Brings Four 'Hunter Edition' Maps to All Next Week

13
The four bonus multiplayer maps included in the premium-priced Hunter Edition and UK Survivor Edition of Aliens vs. Predator will be available for all owners of the game to purchase and download next week, according to publisher SEGA.

The "Swarm Map Pack," as it's called, will run 560 Microsoft Points / $7 when it hits PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on Thursday, March 18. Details on the maps are below:

Two new Multiplayer maps for six different online modes (Deathmatch, Predator Hunt, Infestation, Species Deathmatch, Mixed Species Deathmatch and Domination) :
  • Docks: The caustic alkali waters of BG-386 put an end to Weyland-Yutani's planned shipping activities.
  • Machine: As well as processing exotic ores, the BG-386 Refinery provided electrical power to the colonists at Freya's Prospect.
Two new Survivor maps in which up to four Marines battle to stay alive against increasing swarms of Aliens:
  • Outpost: The site of the original Weyland-Yutani colony on BG-386 was abandoned, and soon reclaimed by the planet's voracious jungle plant life.
  • Hive: Deep in the heart of the Freya's Prospect Refinery lays the Xenomorph Hive.

even if this game ran properly (buggy buggy buggy) I would not pay a damn dime for your DLC.

I think paying for any DLC that isn't a full outright expansion pack is lame. Companies have been giving us major patches with new maps, units, addons, missions, etc...for years at no extra cost. It was called 'supporting your game' and developers seem to have forgotten that. Or at least some.. Epic did release their "Titan Pack" for UT3 last year for free, which is great, and there are other developers that continue to release content for free.

Yeah I know I just didn't have the energy to make a whole comment on my feelings about DLC

I agree. AvP really sucks. It's like playing a 90s shooter in 2010.
I doubt they will sell any map packs when each map is nearly $2.

Really? I haven't come across any bugs yet. It was kinda lame when they didn't have dedicated servers but they fixed that. What exactly is the problem? I've heard people say the graphics suck but I think they're pretty damn good. But I have a newer card maybe it doesn't look so good on directx9. I'm having a blast with this game. I love that it's not a clone of all the other FPS games out there.

Not a clone? the Marine campaign is like every generic and shitty FPS that came out in the last 5 to 10 years.

and then there is this which is also true, just an overall disapointing game, I was hoping more from the team who did the original ones which I loved.

You must be one of the lucky ones who can play it with out the stuttering problem, or sound corruption or broken brightness slider in the video options (not really big deal but for a game that is a little to dark i found it quite annoying). I just beat the game about an hour ago and I had to quit playing after about 20 minutes or so of gameplay every time /exit out of steam/re-launch steam/ re-verify local game cache/ then launch the game in DX9 mode because DX11-10 wont even run properly, sometimes it wasnt even 5 minutes before I got stuttering and sound corruption. And no its not my computer if that is what your thinking. I've been all over forums on steam and sega with no help at all from either.. patches did absolutly nothing. Im just glad I beat it so I can retire this barrel of shit. I did like the graphics though when the game was working. Also the Alien and Predator campaigns were very very short.
