First Fallout: New Vegas Screenshots Appear

It's not exactly clear exactly where this batch of Fallout: New Vegas screenshots came from--they surfaced via Duck and Cover, Joystiq and others over the weekend--but they're definitely legitimate, having already appeared in several print publications.

So, without further ado, I present to you geckos, heart-shaped glasses, and Mr. T-Rex:

Helmed not by Fallout 3 developer Bethesda but rather Obsidian--founded by veterans of now-defunct Fallout and Fallout 2 maker Black Isle--Fallout: New Vegas will bring its post-apocalyptic action-RPG antics to PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 this fall.

This might sound like a strange reason, but after putting over 200 hours each into both Oblivion and Fallout 3, i don't think i can play another game using the same engine. Especially when those screens look like they could easily be set in the capital wasteland.

I feel the same "meh" seeing these as I did when I saw them in the mags. I dunno if it's the palette or what, but the shots look terribly mediocre... maybe I'm just spoiled after playing Fallout 3 with graphics mods.

how many times am i gonna see that same fucking black dude in these games. He's the dude u talk to in Oblivion for the arena, he's at least 2-3 people in Fallout 3, and now he's in this one....

Jesus, these graphics look really dated, and...just...bad. The color isn't right. I don't know. If it wasn't FALLOUT: NEW VEGAS my first impression would be to completely overlook this game and give it a miss.

I really hope they improve on the animation a LOT this time around. Some of the bad things from Fallout 3 that really irked me were the characters' animation. The way they walk, shoot, die, move in general was just horrendous. I really hope this one is much better...

So Fallout 3 expansion/mod ? It looks very similar, not being a bad thing i guess. But seeing those identical character models and exact same textures makes it feel like an expansion. Would of been cool if they made Vegas all dunes and blowing sand like in the 3rd resident evil movie, but that just my own little preference.
